Services and Events in our Churches over the next three weeks
On Sunday 3rd May 2026 – the Fifth Sunday of Easter (Easter 5) - there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Marie Edwards will preside;
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside; and
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a Café Church service of informal worship, discussion, quizzes and simple refreshments, led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild. In addition, a Baptism will be an integral part of this service when we shall welcome into the Church little Emily and Maria. [Editor’s note: There will NOT be Communion at this service].
The scripture passages set in the Lectionary for Easter 5 are:

- John 14:1-14

On Tuesday 5th May 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church; there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 6th May 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.

On Sunday 10th May 2026 it is the Sixth Sunday of Easter (Easter 6) and there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside followed at about 10.30am by the Brookfield 2026 Annual Meetings (the Meeting of Parishioners (MOP) to elect Churchwardens, and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM);
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer MInister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside; and
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church there will be a service of Evensong led by Revd Vanessa.

- Psalm 66:7-18
- 1 Peter 3:13-22
- John 14:15-21
The Diocesan Reflection for Easter 6 will be given by the Rt Revd Dr Flora Winfield, Bishop of Selby. Biship Flora will reflect on the Gospel passage set for that day (John14:15-21). You can find the Reflection at this link from about the Thursday before that Sunday.
On Tuesday 12th May 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 13th May 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.
On Thursday 14th May 2026 it is Ascension Day and the start of Thy Kingdom Come (TKC) 2026
On Thursday 14th May 2026 at 11.00am at Hilton Church there will be a service of Holy Communion to celebrate Ascension Day.
On Thursday 14th May 2026 at about 11.00am at Hilton Church, immediately after the 10.00am HC service, there will be the Hilton 2026 Annual Meetings (the Meeting of Parishioners (MOP) to elect Churchwardens, and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM).
On Thursday 14th May 2026 at 7.00pm at Stainton Church there will be a Church Family service of Holy Communion to celebrate Ascension Day at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside and Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preach.
On Friday 15th May 2026 at 12.00 noon at Brookfield Church there will be a TKC prayer space open for us to pray for those who do not yet know Jesus to hear His call and to respond to it and follow Him.
On Saturday 16th May 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a Charity Coffee Morning in Brookfield Church Hall in aid of Christian Aid.
On Saturday 16th May 2026 at 12.00 noon at Brookfield Church there will be a TKC prayer space open for us to pray for those who do not yet know Jesus to hear His call and to respond to it and follow Him.

At 9.30am at Hilton Church there will be a service of Morning Praise led by Julia Ardley, Authorised Lay Minister (ALM) at Stainton.
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a Breakfast Church service of informal worship, discussion, quizzes and simple refreshments, led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild;
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside.

At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Laura will preside and Revd Vanessa will preach; and
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church there will be a service of Evensong led by Revd Vanessa.
