Services and Events in our Churches over the next two weeks
On Sunday 16th August 2026 it is Trinity 11 and there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise led by Julia Ardley, Authorised Lay Minister;
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church an All-Age Communion service at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside; and
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside and at which Julia Ardley will preach; and
At 4.00pm at Brookfield Church our “Family Church at 4” service on the theme “Jesus the Vine”
The scripture passages set in the Lectionary for Trinity 11 are:
- Isaiah 56:1, 6-8
- Psalm 67
- Romans 11:1-2a, 29-32
- Matthew 15: [10-20], 21-28
The Diocesan Reflection for Trinity 11 will be given by the Venerable Dr Amanda Bloor, our Archdeacon of Cleveland. Archdeacon Amanda will reflect on the Gospel passage set for that day (Matthew 15 [10-20], 21-28). The Reflection can be found at this link.
From Monday to Sunday 17th–23rd August 2026 we are all invited to take part in a Teesside Week of Prayer and Fasting in preparation for the Bible Conversations: Teesside campaign.
On Tuesday 18th August 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church; there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering.
On Wednesday 19th August 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside.

On Sunday 23rd August 2026 it is Trinity 12 and there will be services as follows:
At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside;
At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Laura will also preside; and
At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a Pet Service led by Revd Laura.
The scripture passages set in the Lectionary for Trinity 12 are:
- Isaiah 51:1-6
- Psalm 138
- Romans 12:1-8
- Matthew 16:13-20
The Diocesan Reflection for Trinity 12 will be given by the Rt Revd Barry Hill, our own Bishop of Whitby. Bishop Barry reflects on the Gospel passage set for that day (Matthew 16:13-20). The Reflection can be found at this link from about the Thursday before that Sunday
On Tuesday 25th August 2026 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Church Family Prayer Gathering
On Wednesday 26th August 2026 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion, at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.
