Our Church Services

Services and Events in our Churches over the next two weeks

On Sunday 12th October 2025 – Trinity 17 there will be services as follows:

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside and at which we shall welcome our guest speaker the Venerable John Day (Diocesan Growing Healthy Churches Adviser).

At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Laura will also preside and at which we shall welcome our guest speaker the Venerable John Day (Diocesan Growing Healthy Churches Adviser).

At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Evensong led by Revd Laura.

The lessons set in the Lectionary for Trinity 17 (Proper 23) are:

  • 2 Kings 5:1-3, 7-15c
  • Psalm 111
  • 2 Timothy 2:8-15
  • Luke 17:11-19

 

On Monday 13th October 2025 at 2.00pm in Brookfield Church Hall there will be the sixth session (Spirit and Community – What part do we have to play?) of our Plurality Bible Study Course led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild. The sessions last for about one hour and follow The Bible Series material from The Bible Society.

On Tuesday 14th October 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.

On Wednesday 15th October 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church; there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.

On Sunday 19th October 2025 – Trinity 18 – there will be services as follows:

At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise led by Julia Ardley, Authorised Lay Minister.

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church an informal Harvest Festival Breakfast Church service with discussion, quizzes and simple refreshments led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild and our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby. [Editor's note: There will NOT be Holy Communion at this service]. We would be very pleased to receive any Harvest gifts of non‑perishable foodstuffs that you would like to donate at this service, all of which will be sent to the Middlesbrough Foodbank.

At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Vanessa will preside.

The lessons set in the Lectionary for Trinity 18 (Proper 24) are:

  • Genesis 32:22-31
  • Psalm 121
  • 2 Timothy 3:14 - 4:5
  • Luke 18:1-8

The lessons set in the Lectionary for a Harvest Festival service are:

  • Deuteronomy 26:1-11
  • Psalm 100
  • Philippians 4:4-9 or Revelation 14:14-18
  • John 6:25-35

 

On Monday 20th October 2025 at 2.00pm in Brookfield Church Hall there will be the seventh and last session (“Hope and home – How does the story of the Bible end?”) of our Plurality Bible Study Course led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild. The sessions last for about one hour and follow The Bible Series material from The Bible Society.

On Tuesday 21st October 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.

On Wednesday 22nd October 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.
