Our Church Services

Services and Events in our Churches over the next three weeks

On Sunday 19th October 2025 – Trinity 18 – there will be services as follows:

At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Morning Praise led by Julia Ardley, Authorised Lay Minister.

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church an informal Harvest Festival Breakfast Church service with discussion, quizzes and simple refreshments led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild and our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby. [Editor's note: There will NOT be Holy Communion at this service]. We would be very pleased to receive any Harvest gifts of non‑perishable foodstuffs that you would like to donate at this service, all of which will be sent to the Middlesbrough Foodbank.

At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which Revd Vanessa will preside.

The lessons set in the Lectionary for Trinity 18 (Proper 24) are:

  • Genesis 32:22-31
  • Psalm 121
  • 2 Timothy 3:14 - 4:5
  • Luke 18:1-8

The lessons set in the Lectionary for a Harvest Festival service are:

  • Deuteronomy 26:1-11
  • Psalm 100
  • Philippians 4:4-9 or Revelation 14:14-18
  • John 6:25-35

 

On Monday 20th October 2025 at 2.00pm in Brookfield Church Hall there will be the seventh and last session (“Hope and home – How does the story of the Bible end?”) of our Plurality Bible Study Course led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild. The sessions last for about one hour and follow The Bible Series material from The Bible Society.

On Tuesday 21st October 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.

On Wednesday 22nd October 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.

On Sunday 26th October 2025 – the Last Sunday after Trinity (it is also celebrated as Bible Sunday) there will be services as follows:

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside.

At 11.00am at Stainton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.

At 4.00pm at Hilton Church a service of Hope and Remembrance led by Revd Laura.

 

The lessons set in the Lectionary for the Last Sunday after Trinity (Proper 25) are:

  • Jeremiah 14:7-10, 19-22
  • Psalm 84:1-7
  • 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18
  • Luke 18:9-14

The lessons set in the Lectionary for Bible Sunday are:

  • Isaiah 45:22-25
  • Psalm 119:129-136
  • Roman 15:1-6
  • Luke 4:16-24

 

On Tuesday 28th October 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.

On Wednesday 29th October 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church; there will be a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.

On Friday 31st October 2025 at 4.00-6.00pm at Hilton Church there will be the “Hilton Light in the Night” event of “Treats – not Tricks”

On Sunday 2nd November 2025 – All Saints’ (Sun)Day (transferred from 1st November) – it is also the 4th Sunday before Advent - there will be services as follows:

At 9.30am at Hilton Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Pioneer Minister, Revd Vanessa Kirby, will preside.

At 9.30am at Brookfield Church a service of Holy Communion at which our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild, will preside.

At 11.00am at Stainton Church an informal Café Church service with discussion, quizzes and simple refreshments led by our Vicar, Revd Laura Wild and at which we will welcome our guest speaker, Sam Ireton of the Restoration Church in Grove Hill. [Editor's note: There will NOT be Holy Communion at this service].

At 4.00pm at Stainton Church a service of Hope and Remembrance.

  • Daniel 7:1-3 15-18

The lessons set in the Lectionary for the 4th Sunday before Advent are:

On Monday 3rd November 2025 at 12.00noon in Brookfield Church there will be a service for All Souls’ Day.

On Tuesday 4th November 2025 at 9.30am at Stainton Church there will be a half-hour Plurality Prayer Gathering.

On Wednesday 5th November 2025 at 10.00am at Brookfield Church there will be a service of Holy Communion.
